Day 116


Bible
  1. Look at an introduction to India
  2. Read  Window on the World pg. 64-65 Gonds
  3. Memory Verse: Matthew 7:12
  4. Pick 2 songs and praise the Lord All Mighty!  Get one of your siblings to sing with you, more can join, if they want.
Spelling
  1. Copy Matthew 7: 12
  2. Write down the word that has an F sound.
  3. Record yourself on tape for later dictation.  
English
  1. We talked about linking verb last week, let's review, they words that connect, for example, the toad is purple.  The linking verb is "is".  
  2. Commas in a series
    1. Since we can't use the word "and" over and over again in one sentence, you need to substitute the "and" with a comma.  At the end, when you are done, you finally use "and".  Write these sentences down to see how it works
    2. My pet can run, growl, play, escape, and bite!
    3. My little sister snuggles, wiggles, grins, and giggles.
    4. A baby can yell, smile, and sleep.
  1. These lists have commas after each item.  In each list, the word and comes before the last item. 
  2. Now make your own sentence.  Show someone.
  3. Do this lesson and activity on rhyme, rhythm and alliteration in poetry.
  4. Explode the Code
    1. 2.5 do pages 5-6
    2. 1.5 do pages 5-6

Math

  1. Singapore math
    1. Level 1B

  2. Add 10. It will tell you a number. Add 10. Remember how? Add 1 to the ten’s place. It’s easy on the chart. Just look down one row because each row has ten numbers. Click on next to get your next number to find. When you are good at it, try the next one.
  3. Now add 11. That’s adding 10 and adding 1. Now you will add 1 to the tens and 1 to the ones. What happens when you add 1 to 9? Do you remember? It’s easy on the chart. Just move down one row to add 10 and over one spot to add 1.
Geography

  1. Learn about the countries in Asia. Click on the countries to hear their names.
  2. Copy by hand the map of India and label it with the list below the picture.
  3. In the India section you can click on the link to see India’s currency.
  4. Here’s a short biography to read about the man on their paper money.
  5. What’s his name?

  1. Living World pg 82-83
  2. Wild Places pg. 8-9 Wild Animals
Music
  1. #13 Symphony
  2. One of the earliest man-made instruments must have been some sort of drum.
  3. Play the drums. Click on play and use your keyboard.
Reading 20 minutes
  1. Level Reading is done with an adult, make sure you get someone and then answer the questions at the end, if any.
  2. pick at least 3 books of your choice
