1. Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Adjectives
1. Review: A noun is the name of a person, place, think, or place.
2. Can you name a person for me? A place? A thing? An idea? All those words are nouns.
3. Review: A pronoun is a word used in the place of a noun.
4. Instead of saying to you, "Christina is coming to play today," I could say "She is coming to play today."  Repeat 2x this sentence.
5. Review: A verb is a word that does an action, shows a state of being, links two words together, or helps another verb. Say 3x 
6. Adjective: An adjective is a word that describes a noun. Say 3x
7. Finish: The wall is...., The dress is...., The horse is....., My room is....
8. Write out these words under each part of a sentence.

1. Living World p 26-27 The Depths of the Ocean
2. Cold Water Demonstration: The sun helps warm the top layer of the ocean's water.  The deeper water is colder, and the cold water stays below the warmer surface water.  To demonstrate this, fill an empty plastic soda bottle with very cold water, add blue food coloring, and put the lid on.  Place the bottle in the fridge for several hours.
3. Then fill the bathtub with hot water.  Put the bottle of cold water on it's side on the bottom of the bathtub.  Slowly let about half of the cold water out.  what happens to the cold water?  Why?  [It should stay at the bottom.] Then carefully let out some of the water near the surface of the bathtub water.  What happens to the cold water now? [It should sink to the bottom of the bathtub.]
